FALL 2014 UPDATES
So I’m back in Iceland after 4 months of ”summer”. 2 of those months were spent in Helsinki with Tomi, and the other 2 in Békéscsaba (Hungary), training with Dorina and Noémi.
After scratching from Europeans, I took a pretty long break from the apparatuses (did conditioning only) and I did allow myself a little bit of laziness. It started to drive me crazy and I felt the need to get back on track as soon as possible.
Every year since 2009 I visit Dorina and her coach (who used to coach my mom as well) and I get to train with her for couple of weeks. This time it was 2 months, and honestly, looking at my condition back in June, I did not think that I will be able to get in shape and do full routines by now.
And let me tell you oh my gosh that camp was the hardest ever. I joined the younger girls for conditioning and running every day and I had to fight so hard not to give up. Anyways, I survived.
In the beginning of August, my health started playing tricks on me and I kept feeling weak and really sick.
Now I started feeling better, but I clearly don’t feel as strong and confident at the gym as I was couple of weeks ago. I also did gain some weight which I’m working on to get off with a healthy diet.
We did have a National training yesterday where the coaches were figuring out our difficulty scores, and starting to have the idea of the team for Northern Euros and Worlds.
Our qualifying meets will be next Tuesday (26th) and Friday (29th) and couple of days later, they will announce the team if they will even send a team to Worlds.
I do have a chance to make the team, but I really need to get my health and confidence back which I’m not feeling at the moment.
Anyways, I thought I would update you guys, if you wonder what has been up with me :) Thank you for all the support I’ve been getting from you, it cheers me up a lot during the hard days. If you have any questions, feel free to ask, I will try to answer them as soon as possible!
